About us
Established in 1985, the Henricus Foundation was created to bring the 1611 Citie of Henricus back to life. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, we are dedicated to preserving and interpreting the layered history of this site—from the 16th-century Virginia Indians and the early colonial era to the pivotal moments of the Revolutionary and Civil Wars.
We provide immersive educational, cultural, and recreational opportunities through the meticulous reconstruction of early Virginia history and the conservation of the Dutch Gap area.
